Day 1

Perth- Esperance

  • Visit the historic town of York
  • Explore Wave Rock
  • Esperance and the Great Ocean Drive

Entering the Darling Escarpment’s eucalyptus woodlands and catching glimpses of wildlife within minutes of leaving the city, we head towards the historic town of York. Colonial buildings line the streets as we stop to admire the town’s proud heritage. Continuing through the expansive fields of the wheat belt we journey to Hyden and its famous Wave Rock. Learn how this mysterious granite outcropping, sculptured by nature, along with Hippo’s Yawn is steeped with aborigine culture. The tour proceeds past the 120* meridian (WA time) towards Esperance and the Southern Ocean’s spectacular coastline. We travel the Great Ocean Drive for a brief taste of what tomorrow has to offer before checking in our hostel accommodation. Check out the town or go fishing from the town jetty and maybe see Sammy the sea lion! (L, D)

Day 2

Esperance- Cape Le Grande

  • Cape Le Grande National Park.
  • Lucky Bay and Hells Fire Beach.
  • Climb Frenchman’s Peak*.
  • Walk Thistle Cove’s Nature Trail.

Prepare to be amazed this morning! Cape Le Grande awaits a day of wonder, adventure and unbelievable scenery. We head for Lucky Bay, arguably one of Australia’s best beaches. See the kangaroos and stroll the squeaky clean sands. Walk the nature trail to Thistle Cove to witness stunning panoramas and abundant wildlife then cool off in the pristine aquamarine waters of Hellfire Beach. Relax now but after lunch we climb Frenchman’s Peak. From the ocean carved caves the 260m summit offers sweeping views of the park and beyond. It has been a full day as we return to our accommodation. Towards days end, we can visit the town lookout to view the beautiful Recherché Archipelago before feasting on an Aussie BBQ. Day 3

Esperance- Albany

  •  Bluff Knoll
  •  Albany Township

Today, as we make our way towards Western Australia’s first settlement, Albany. But first we pass by Fitzgerald River National Park, Internationally recognised as “the most important Mediterranean ecosystem in the world” (Wildflower season only).Next’s it’s onto the Striling Range where we stop for lunch and take in the magnificent views of Bluff Knoll. After lunch we enjoy the nature trails of Two Peoples Bay that meander throughout this sanctuary to yet another amazing beach (summer only). Heading for Albany town, we visit the many attractions of Albany’s spectacular Middleton Beach & King George Sound, a stunning natural harbour best viewed from the Mount Clarence lookout. Hostel accommodation tonight. (B, L, D)

Day 4

Albany- Pemberton

  • The Blow Holes.
  • The Gap.
  • Natural Bridge.
  • Greens Pool.
  • Valley of the Giants.
  • Tree Top Walk.

Today we follow the coastal road which skirt’s King George Sound on our way to Frenchman’s Bay. Here we explore amazing coastal rock formations known as ‘The Gap’, ‘Natural Bridge’ and the spectacular Blowholes, umbrellas are optional! Its then on to the delightful Town of Denmark located on the edge of the massive Karri and Tingle Tree Forests which dominate this part of WA. Why not follow in the steps of the early pioneers and take a refreshing swim at Greens Pool a natural water feature set amongst the rocks. From here we continue to the Valley of the Giants by taking a stroll along the elevated Tree Top Walk an engineering marvel allowing visitors to experience the unique eco system. We journey on through pristine National Parks to our pre-arranged Budget accommodation in Pemberton. Enjoy a delicious BBQ and campfire atmosphere. (B, L, D)

Day 5

Pemberton - Perth

  • Margaret River.
  • Cave.
  • Busselton Jetty

Awakening to a wonderful misty southwest morning we rise to the sights of kangaroos and emus which are abundant in the area. Heading northwest, we journey to the famous wine and surfing region of Augusta & Margaret River. The spectacular limestone coast winds its way to the mouth of the Margaret River, nearby, waves from the Indian Ocean, wash onto pristine beaches, home of the world famous WA Masters Surf Championships. After lunch, we enjoy wine tasting at an exclusive winery. Next stop, we visit one of the vast networks of caves in the region. Then it’s Busselton Jetty, for a look at the longest piled wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Our tour is coming to an end and before we say our goodbyes we have one last stop at the edge of Koombana Bay in Bunbury and maybe see a dolphin cruise by. Next stop Perth city where we arrive back around 7.00 pm. (B, L)

Please re-confirm booking at least 24hrs before departure office hours 9-5. All wildlife can not be gauranteed whilst on tour. Personal Travel insurance is not included and is recommended.

A deposit of 20% non refundable is payable on booking, with the balance due 7 days prior to departure. Bookings less than 7 days prior to departure must be paid in full. Cancellation within 48 hours of departure or failing to board tour on day of departure, No Refund will be given. Personal travel insurance is recommended. No liability can be taken by Active Safari pty ltd in case of damage, personal loss, injury or sickness. We reserve the right to alter route or itinerary if weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances dictate. No refund will be paid if for any reason the route is altered. Any personal expenses incurred by a passenger as a result of any delay, alteration or curtailment of any tour due to mechanical or whatsoever the cause are the responsibility of the participant. In the event of a mechanical breakdown or other unforeseen circumstances, Active Safari pty ltd reserves the right to substitute vehicles other than specified. Active Safari pty ltd are unable to guarantee exact arrival and departure times and are not liable for any failure to make connections with any other service. Tours will operate with a minimum of 6 passengers.
