4-Monkey Mia Tour Departs Thursday & Friday $545

Day 1 Perth – Kalbarri

• Pinnacles Desert

• Batavia Coast

• Pink Lakes

• Coastal Gorges

We head north to the Nambung National Park & stop to explore the famous limestone formations of the Pinnacle Desert. After lunch at one of the small fishing towns there is a chance for a swim in the Indian Ocean, or a gentle stroll along deserted beaches. We carry on our adventure through Geraldton and along the Batavia Coast, the sight of many shipwrecks (ask your guide for the stories). In season (July – September) check out the prolific wildflowers, en route to the Pink Lakes and the Ocean Gorges (Pot Alley). We stop to watch the sunset & Humpback whales frolicking in the Ocean (seasonal) and then we head for camp, which is a good time for spotting kangaroos. Tonight we stay in Kalbarri. It’s a traditional Aussie Barbie tonight so a stop at a bottle shop on the way is a must. Overnight stay, Hostel, all facilities. (L, D)

Day 2

Kalbarri – Monkey Mia

• Kalbarri National Park

• Natures Window/Z-Bend

• Bushwalk

• Shark Bay

This morning, we have a short drive to Kalbarri National Park where we begin the day with a bush walk to check out the magnificent views of the Murchison River - Z-bend where (time permitting) you can take a cool freshwater dip and then the famous Natures Window. We continue north to Shark Bay which takes us through station country, where we cross Meadow and Nerren Nerren sheep stations and another opportunity for wildflowers in season. Next stop is to visit the Stromatolites (the oldest living things on the planet) and then on to Shell Beach, probably the longest shell beach in the world. Now onto Denham (the most westerly town in Australia) for an important bottle shop stop before arriving at Monkey Mia Resort for the night. Other operators tend to stay in Denham but we would rather you experience a stay at the Monkey Mia Resort itself, situated right on the beach so that you can relax around the Barbie or swimming pool/hot tub. You may even see the Dolphins hunting at night for fish along the shore line. Overnight stay. Monkey Mia Resort all facilities. (B, L, D)

Day 3

Monkey Mia - Riverside Sanctuary

• Monkey Mia Resort

• Coastal Gorges

• Stromatolites

• Wildlife

We have the morning to spend at Monkey Mia to see the wild dolphins that come in shore which is a truly unforgettable experience. There is also an opportunity to take an optional cruise on a catamaran, ‘Aristocat2’ / ‘ Shotover’ to see more marine life, maybe a Dugong (the legendary Mermaid Myth) as this is the best place in the world to see these magical creatures. Sea snakes, turtles and tiger shark may also be seen. We will have lunch at the resort, before moving on to one of the many coastal cliffs, where we admire breathtaking views of Shark Bay. See more marine life swimming down below, maybe a Sting Ray or a shark or two. Then it’s back south to Riverside Sanctuary farmstay situated close to the Murchison River. We have a chance to explore the area with a guided bush walk. Overnight Farmstay, all facilities. (B, L, D).

Day 4

Riverside - Perth

• Hutt River Province

• Wildlife Park

• Sandboarding*

Today it’s up early for our first visit to the Principality of Hutt River Province, an Independent Sovereign state to meet H.R.H. Prince Leonard. Don’t forget your passport if you want a unique visa stamp. Then we make our way to Greenough Wildlife Park to meet the local snakes and if you can bare it, you can hold one. After lunch we continue our journey back to Perth arriving approx. 6.00pm. But before this we are now off sandboarding*! Have some fun surfing over large natural sand dunes so hang on. (B, L)
